The following policies outline booking requirements, studio guidelines, health considerations, and payment terms. These policies apply to all clients and are in place to ensure safety and organization.

PLACEMENT RESTRICTIONS

I do not tattoo the following areas:

∘⠀Face

∘⠀Front of the neck

∘⠀Hands or feet

∘⠀Private areas

Leg and ankle tattoos require clean socks to be worn for the duration of the appointment.

HEALTH & ELIGIBILITY

I cannot tattoo you if any of the following apply:

∘⠀Under the age of 18 years old
∘⠀Do not have government issued ID

∘⠀Noncompliant with policies, pre-appointment and aftercare instructions

∘⠀Pregnant, recently postpartum, or breastfeeding

∘⠀Sick (Covid, Cold, Flu, etc)

∘⠀Have an open wound, sunburn, skin rash, pimples, acne or moles on or near the treatment area

∘⠀Have any visible condition which would interfere with the healing process

∘⠀Have taken antibiotics in the past 10 days

∘⠀Immunocompromised or taking immunosuppression medication

∘⠀Have any active infection or illness

∘⠀At high risk of infection/must take antibiotics during dental work

∘⠀Uncontrolled High/Low Blood Pressure

∘⠀Have an upcoming surgery within 4 weeks

∘⠀Taking blood thinning medication or iron supplements

∘⠀Taking adderall

∘⠀Tanning in the sun, tanning booth or both

∘⠀Diabetic

∘⠀Hemophilia

∘⠀Vitiligo

∘⠀Epilepsy or a history of seizure

∘⠀Fainting, narcolepsy, or other conditions that could interfere with the body art procedure

∘⠀Hepatitis B/C or any uncontrolled blood-borne pathogen

∘⠀Have cancer or are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation

∘⠀Taking krill oil/fish oil.

∘⠀Have undiagnosed/untreated heart issues

∘⠀Have tendency to keloid

∘⠀Trichotillomania

∘⠀Currently taking painkillers, street narcotics, or on controlled substance

∘⠀Under the influence of any recreational drugs or alcohol

Please contact your health care provider with your questions or concerns regarding a possible condition that may disqualify you from receiving services.

Clients who arrive ineligible for service due to medical conditions, medications, skin integrity issues, or failure to follow pre-appointment instructions will not be serviced.

Appointments canceled on the day of service due to ineligibility are non-fundable. Rescheduling is not guaranteed.


Risk Notification:

∘⠀Body Art can cause redness, swelling, bruising, discomfort, bleeding, & pain

∘⠀Body Art can cause allergic reactions

∘⠀Body Art causes permanent and irreversible changes to the human body and your appearance

∘⠀Body Art has a risk of infection

∘⠀Any effective removal of the body art work may leave permanent scarring and disfigurement.

PRE-CARE & AFTERCARE

Pre-care and aftercare instructions must be followed.

Failure to comply may result in cancellation without refund.

Surface healing typically takes 2–6 weeks.

Plan appointments accordingly, especially if traveling or attending events.

PAYMENTS & DEPOSITS

∘⠀All payments are made electronically via Zelle

∘⠀Deposits are required to secure appointments

∘⠀Remaining balance is due on appointment day before leaving the studio
∘⠀All Deposits and payments are non-refundable and non-transferable

APPOINTMENT DAY

∘⠀No guests permitted

∘⠀Arrive at your scheduled appointment time

∘⠀Appointments do not start early

∘⠀Arrivals over 15 minutes late may be canceled or subject to a late fee

Service length is estimated and may vary.

Clients must be prepared to stay beyond the estimated time if additional work is required.

HEALTH & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Masks are required for all clients during the entire appointment. This policy is non-negotiable due to close proximity in an enclosed area.

Clients must not attend their appointment if they are sick, feeling unwell, or experiencing any contagious symptoms, including but not limited to fever, cough, sore throat, congestion, nausea, or flu-like symptoms.

If a client arrives visibly ill, discloses symptoms upon arrival, or refuses to comply with the mask requirement, the appointment will be canceled to protect the health and safety of both client and artist.

If you are sick or experiencing contagious symptoms on the day of your appointment, do not attend and notify the studio as soon as possible so the appointment can be rescheduled.

RESCHEDULING & CANCELLATIONS

∘⠀Rescheduling requires at least 7 days’ notice
∘⠀Second reschedule forfeits the deposit and requires a new deposit

∘⠀Late reschedules forfeits the deposit

No-call/no-show appointments forfeit the deposit and are not eligible for rebooking.

In rare cases involving illness or emergency, circumstances beyond the artist's control may require an appointment to be rescheduled, including on the scheduled day.

Clients traveling for appointments are responsible for planning accordingly.

∘⠀Touch-ups are not included unless otherwise stated

∘⠀Touch-up needs vary by placement, skin type, lifestyle, and personal preference

∘⠀Design changes are not considered touch-ups and will be priced separately

DESIGN & REVISIONS

∘⠀Designs are presented at your scheduled appointment
∘⠀All designs are custom created in alignment with my established fine line style
∘⠀Reference images are used for inspiration only
∘⠀Exact replications of another artist's work are not provided

∘⠀Minor refinements may be made at appointment

∘⠀Significant changes to the design may require a redraw fee and rescheduling

RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE

INK WITH JOANNA reserves the right to refuse or cancel service if it is not safe or appropriate to proceed, or if policies are not followed.
